【摘要】:p>1.1Thesetestmethodsaredesignedtocharacterizethetoughnessofplasticsintermsofthecritical-stress-intensityfactor,KIc,andtheenergyperunitareaofcracksurfaceorcriticalstrainenergyreleaserate,GIc,atfractureinitiation.1.2Twotestinggeometriesarecoveredbythesetestmethods,single-edge-notchbending(SENB)andcompacttension(CT).1.3Theschemeusedassumeslinearelasticbehaviorofthecrackedspecimen,socertainrestrictionsonlinearityoftheload-displacementdiagramareimposed.1.4Astate-of-planestrainatthecracktipisrequired.Specimenthicknessmustbesufficienttoensurethisstressstate.1.5Thecrackmustbesufficientlysharptoensurethataminimumvalueoftoughnessisobtained.1.6ThesignificanceofthesetestmethodsandmanyconditionsoftestingareidenticaltothoseofTestMethodE399,and,therefore,inmostcases,appearherewithmanysimilaritiestothemetalsstandard.However,certainconditionsandspecificationsnotcoveredinTestMethodE399,butimportantforplastics,areincluded.1.7ThisprotocolcoversthedeterminationofGIcaswell,whichisofparticularimportanceforplastics.1.8ThesetestmethodsgivegeneralinformationconcerningtherequirementsforKIcandGIctesting.AswithTestMethodE399,twoannexesareprovidedwhichgivethespecificrequirementsfortestingoftheSENBandCTgeometries.1.9Testdataobtainedbythesetestmethodsarerelevantandappropriateforuseinengineeringdesign.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ThereiscurrentlynoISOstandardthatduplicatesthesetestmethods.PendingISO/CD13586coverssimilartestingandreferencesthistestmethodfortestingconditions.
