【摘要】:ThispartofISO13318describesamethodfordeterminingtheparticlesizedistributionofhomogeneousparticulatematerialusingcentrifugalsedimentationinaliquid.SolidsconcentrationsaredeterminedbytheattenuationofanX-raybeam.Theresultingsignalenablesconversiontoaparticlesizedistribution.Themethodofdeterminingtheparticlesizedistributiondescribedinthisstandardisapplicabletopowderswhichcanbedispersedinliquidsorpowderswhicharepresentinslurryform.Thetypicalparticlesizerangeforanalysisisfrom0,1μmto5μm.Themethodisapplicabletopowdersinwhichallparticleshavethesameeffectivedensity,chemicalcompositionandcomparableshapes.Materialspossessingelementswithanatomicnumbergreaterthanabout12canbeexpectedtoproduceadequateX-rayopacity.Particlesshouldnotundergochemicalorphysicalchangeinthesuspensionliquid.Itisnecessarythattheparticleshaveahigherdensitythanthatoftheliquid.
